Yesterday, Joe Smith informed the Search Committee that he has withdrawn as an Interim Principal Candidate.

His message is as follows:

Good Morning,

I have spent considerable time over the last few days talking with my family, meeting with colleagues and meeting with my current principal..  As a result of those conversations, I have decided to withdraw my name from consideration from the principal position at Cavendish Town Elementary School.

I am thankful for the opportunity to meet with the very dedicated staff at CTES and to witness first hand the desire that the local community has to make certain that their school continues to be a vibrant focal point in town.  It is clear to me that CTES is a wonderful school community due to the dedication of the staff and the support of the local community.  CTES students are quite fortunate.

I extend my apology for any inconvenience that this decision may cause, and I wish only for the best to the CTES Community

Sincerely,

Joe Smith

Our other interim principal finalist, Madeline Carlock will be interviewed by the Green Mountain Unified School District (GMUSD) Board tomorrow evening (April 17th at CAES) at 6:30 p.m.  The Board will determine the next steps in this process.
