Interim Principal - Emma Vastola

Dear Cavendish Town Community,

I am thrilled to introduce myself as Ms. Emma, the new Interim Principal of Cavendish Town

Elementary School. It is an honor to join this incredible community, and I look forward to

partnering with all of you—students, families, and staff—to support our collective growth and

success.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve served as an elementary educator teaching grades 1 through 6, a

K-6 Literacy Coordinator, and most recently, the Director of Curriculum for the Two Rivers

Supervisory Union. Each of these roles has deepened my passion for creating equitable,

learner-centered experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence, and joy.

I believe that education has the power to transform lives, empower individuals, and strengthen

communities. As a leader, I am committed to:

● Meeting people where they are and listening with intention and care.

● Cultivating a sense of belonging where every voice is valued.

● Supporting a collaborative environment where students, families, and staff feel connected, inspired, and capable of thriving.

Beyond my professional life, here’s a bit about who I am:

● Educator and Lead Learner: I am passionate about lifelong learning and modeling curiosity for others.

● Family-Oriented: I am the wife of a technical educator and the proud mother of two daughters, ages 9 and 11, who remind

me every day of the wonder and magic of childhood.

● Outdoor Enthusiast and Reader: I love running, skiing, writing, and finding inspiration in the natural world.

● Champion of Connection: I am deeply dedicated to fostering growth, transformation, and relationships in every community I

serve.

My academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts in History/Anthropology from the University of Vermont, a Master of Arts in Education

from Castleton State University, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Southern New Hampshire University. I am

currently completing the final stages of an Educational Leadership Program at the Upper Valley Educators Institute.

Cavendish Town Elementary School has a proud tradition of fostering a nurturing and innovative learning environment. Together, we

will continue to create a school community where students are empowered, educators are supported, and families are welcomed as

partners in learning. I look forward to working alongside each of you to make this vision a reality.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out, share your hopes for our school, or simply introduce yourself—I am here to listen, learn, and grow

with you. Together, we can achieve extraordinary things.

Warmly,

Emma C. Vastola
