Welcome to Cavendish Town Elementary School
CTES Statement of Purpose
At CTES, we strive to be a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where both students and staff feel safe, valued, and supported. Rooted in our shared values—Respect, Knowledge, and Belonging—we work together to ensure that all students are seen, heard, and able to thrive.
As educators and community members, we commit to examining and addressing the systemic barriers and inequities that impact student experiences and access to opportunity. We hold ourselves accountable through continuous reflection, dialogue, and action informed by an equity lens.
We are committed to building a school culture that fosters wellness, cultivates social justice, and celebrates the strengths of all our students—especially those whose voices and identities have been historically marginalized. We believe that when we center student well-being, we lay the foundation for meaningful academic growth and lifelong success.
Our Mission
At Cavendish Town Elementary School, we prepare students to be curious learners, thoughtful citizens, and compassionate community members. We do this by supporting the whole child—intellectually, socially, and emotionally—so that every student is equipped to lead a healthy, purposeful, and connected life.
Our Community
Cavendish is a small, tight-knit town in Windsor County with a deep-rooted commitment to caring for one another. Our community includes multi-generational Vermonters, families new to the area, and students with a wide range of backgrounds, strengths, and needs. CTES reflects the spirit of this place—one that values hard work, kindness, and community pride.
We honor the diversity of experiences that our students and families bring and work every day to create a school where all feel welcomed, respected, and empowered to grow.
